Look at the studies of why women and POC leave academia mid-way through thus creating a "leaky pipeline. " A recurring reason is harassment and bullying of a sexual OR non-sexual variety while their institutions stood by and did nothing claiming it's too hard to discipline tenured faculty.
and you might think sexual harassment at work is about desire, or maybe a lack of boundaries

let me tell you it is about shrinking the pool of competitors

if it's a boys' club you only have to be better than the other boys to look good

the word "everyday" is doin' a lotta work here
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25
Pete Buttigieg critiques Democrats for focus on identity
The former U.S. transportation secretary said the Democratic Party should focus more on issues gripping the country, such as health care and housing affordability.

being an abortion musicologist is fun because sometimes i'll put my music on shuffle and it'll be like Blondie -> Mahler -> Missy Elliott -> "2018 evangelical parade protest part 2 amplified fetus"

An anti-abortion protester has shot someone outside of a South Carolina Planned Parenthood.

My source says one person was injured and taken to the hospital—and that the protester was arrested.

More soon.

i've been thru some pretty objectively horrendous things in life, so it's weird that seven years down the road i'm still traumatized from getting forced out of a music PhD program. like objectively this is nowhere near the worst thing that has happened to me.

Trump getting elected a few weeks AFTER the Access Hollywood tape dropped was to America’s culture of sexual violence what Sandy Hook was for gun violence—a clear sign that tens of millions of “conservatives” were totally fine with it.
i mean c’mon. the president’s best friend was the most notorious pedo in the country’s history who ran a massive child trafficking ring. every bit of circumstantial evidence we have says that trump was a participant. if this were a criminal trial we’d have enough evidence to compel a plea deal.

Did I go to the bar and make a Lisa Frank-themed social media ask for an organ? Yes.

benefits to donating:
- temporary break from work and responsibilities as you convalesce
- badass scar
- you grow your own organ back, that’s kinda cool
- good karma
- you save my life

(please share)

one cool thing about clinic escorting for 6+ years (other than helping ppl access abortion!) is that now i am REALLY good at speedily getting dressed for 25° weather while it's so early that the sun isn't even up yet

literally just logged on while taking a break from folding laundry and ugh, what a fucking bummer. not surprised, just so so exhausted.
look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

str8 people when they find out i don't want kids: "but who will take care of you when you're old?"

1) weird that part of your reason for procreating is so your offspring will feel obligated to take care of you
2) to answer your question: an entire discord server full of lesbians
