For decades, Sec. Kennedy has spread lies about vaccines. Now, his misinformation will lead to preventable illness & death.

Firing independent experts is a dangerous move that makes it harder for Americans to access vaccines that are safe, effective & essential to saving lives.

The Dallas ICE office is involved in a mass removal effort targeting nearly 200 people — many without removal orders — scheduled to be deported to El Salvador today.

This is not just cruel – it is lawless. I refuse to stay quiet while families are being torn apart, and lives are being put at risk.

Remember: Almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or sought better lives for themselves and their descendants.

Politicians who stoke fear and hatred over immigration want you to forget this.

Do not.

It is a fundamental mechanism of US imperialism to rely on a flexible claiming and/or disavowing of sovereignty, jurisdiction and/or territorial control to wield power with impunity.

Amy Kaplan‘s and @alyoshagoldstein.bsky.social‘s work have been instrumental in pointing this out.

This is about destroying the #NIH. Even before the new NIH director takes his post, the higher ups in the #Trump administration are taking steps to dismantle biomedical research in the US as we know it, with the scientific, human and economic costs to be devastating.
The Trump admin is ousting NIH chief of staff John Burklow, a nearly 40-year agency vet.

Seana Cranston, a former top aide to Rep. Thomas Massie, is likely to replace him—departing from the tradition of having careers fill the role.

Immigrants they can't deport to their home countries are taken to Panama instead, where the plan is to detain them in a camp near the jungle. This is a trend I wrote about in S. America under 1970s & '80s dictatorship: the outsourcing of concentration camp detention. (Australia also did it in 2001.)

The administration has asked Panama to take in hundreds of people who can’t easily be sent back to their countries. Many say they are in danger.
