You should always pay close attention to the news the people in power are trying to hide.

Which means, news that drops when #journalists aren't working. Particularly: late on a Friday afternoon, or just before a holiday.

It's possible that a year from now, on Dec. 31, we will be able to say that things are better now than they were a year ago. I don't think that was possible a year ago. So there's something to hold on to!

Why did the GOP-controlled House Judiciary Committee release Jack Smith's deposition now-- when the House is on vacation, on a day when absolutely everyone is ignoring the news?

Which means there's something in it that the GOP wants everyone to ignore.

Trump treats Russia like Putin is his boss.

So if you're a family evicted from your apartment, or a mother fleeing domestic violence with her children, or someone unhoused trying to get off the street or out of their car for a night... you're not allowed to stay at these Asheville hotels.

Just unabashed discrimination.

truly surprised how much ableism i'm seeing in replies. not everyone is physically able to get to a dropbox or stand in line at the post office for a postmark. and some red states have made it illegal for anyone else to drop off your ballot.

this seems specifically designed to break mail-in voting (where deadlines are defined by postmark)
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

This was bad 6 months ago and it’s bad now. if gay activists had settled for the idea that “we need to meet people where they are,“ there literally would never have been a gay rights movement. Careful strategizing was HALF the movement—and it would have gotten us nowhere without the other half.

NYT, WaPo, and the rest of the MSM have essentially gone on vacation for the last two weeks of the year: Virtually no actual reporting, just a skeleton crew re-writing press releases, and lots of soft-focus features about mistletoe.

Thank you, independent practitioners of #journalism:
Earlier Trump said the alleged US strike on Venezuela happened at a facility "on the shore...in the dock area where they load the boats up with drugs."

But the Primazol warehouse where the fire took place is a 15 minute drive inland.

It is so cool that Aaron Rodgers became a super huge actual loser after he turned to the dark side. Ever since he wigged out about that Covid vaccine, made himself a martyr, and chose up sides with RFK Jr., he just can't stop losing and letting people down. Great lesson for the kids, thanks man.
