This Swallow at Balranald, N Uist this afternoon appears to be the American subspecies: erythrogaster due to the lack of a dark band across the lower throat.

Please share ! This one just needs knocking on the head once and for all.
📢Help save Coul Links!

Once again, this beautiful place is threatened by plans for a golf course which would do irreparable damage to rare habitats and wildlife. 🌱🦆🐦🦋🪰

This one has stumped me, at 3 seconds in. PUC didn’t even give a guess, it was the Goldcrest it picked up. #BWPUC

This is where a pair of Aberdeenshire #Nightjars are nesting & roosting. Not a great choice -a Red #Deer highway! Lucky the eggs/young didn't get trampled - or eaten by deer.

Scottish ministers are being urged to rethink a 'poor decision' to grant a licence to kill hundreds of gannet chicks 👇
July 16, 2025 at 1:10 PM
About time this ridiculous “tradition” was forgotten. 500 Gannets to the slaughter for the sake of an all male summer booze up. Disgrace the licence was granted.

Scotland's last surviving guga hunt to resume this summer
The controversial harvest of young gannets has not been held since 2021 due to concerns around avian flu.

No mention at all by national media. It’s only a 15km long fire in the Highlands.

Seems legit eh - maxed out credit card, bird guide for those tricky to ID common birds that never usually get looked at, sat nav, twat Quattro, and half a brain...............
