Forever side-eyeing people who seem perfectly able to say Johan Sebastian Bach’s name correctly and yet insist on calling a loch a “lock”

Over 2 yrs of being “lost in the system”, countless phone calls, multiple emails from three different GPs, even got my MSP involved at one point — finally, FINALLY getting my MRI venogram today.

Now that NorthLink have finally implemented lie-flat pods I think we should refocus our hate onto why on earth they designed the cabin showers to flood the entire bathroom every time you use them

Labour ask guy who says ME/CFS isn't real to review mental health & neurodiversity diagnoses, this is gna go exactly how they want it to, in order to push ppl out of access to healthcare, benefits & support – what better way to save £ than erase patients?

Did not anticipate cat ownership being such an exercise in night terrors (live mice brought into our bed at 4am)

The cumulative effects of a lunar storm cycle. The things that pain brings to the surface. The detritus left behind. I am feeling so worn down by it all.

Endometriosis is what I imagine coastal erosion feels like.

(Also this poem has one of my favourite moments of getting to play with shaetlan’s nouns having grammatical gender. Did she bring the fisherman to the dance or the bag? YOU’LL NEVER KNOW AND I’LL NEVER TELL.)

Thank you for the share @asls.org.uk but also thank you for the Reddit post and subsequent discussion — very curious to know if the elbowing of the gingernut thing is contained solely to the east coast now

Haven’t seen any other Shetland’s do this, I believe my grannie picked this particular habit up when she briefly lived in Edinburgh during her teens ☺️

If your kids are struggling with going back to school then it's definitely not a new thing.

This little girl was going to school in Evie, #Orkney in 1920 which is 105 years ago.

She doesn't look terribly keen.

in britain the anchorites of asda dwell by the sacred stones, solemnly intoning the words “that’s asda price”, and performing the necessary ritual (the double bum slap) three times a day to bring about the great rolling back when we will all be redeemed
One for @urbanprehistorian.bsky.social - I was reading this morning about the Asda 'Price Promise' stones that were erected across the country in the 90s

Some are definitely on the way to being archaeological monuments, such as this one in Trumfleet, South Yorkshire

There was a skylark in our fireplace this morning. Going to need a witchy type to interpret that omen for me.

(It seemed fine by the way, though I am fretful for its poor peerie lungs)
