It’s not like the news business was flourishing in 2015 — together FB, Craigslist and Google sucked the ad revenue out of news — especially local news — almost decade earlier. The pivot to video was a minor cliff in that decades-long decline.

People need to realize that a massive userbase isn't always a good thing. A smaller more active and less toxic userbase is always going to be better than a huge toxic and sporadically active userbase

The letter from Twitter's lawyer to Meta over Threads is comically bad. There's no substance, just a vague claim that Twitter employees Elon fired had some sort of dark magic in their brains about how to make a microblogging service.

I think I feel it coming. Over the next couple of days, maybe it might take a week, I am going to attempt to write the densest essay I’ve ever written. It’s sort of “visa’s theory of everything” and it’ll probably include almost every single one of my talking points, from a hopefully fresh POV
