In small and annoying and huge and threatening ways it impacts us all and is a strong concern for most people.

If you feel hopeless, look around and see people creating solutions and find ways you can act to generate hope however you can, wherever you are.

Everything we can do to keep the climate crisis from getting worse is a good idea.

#ClimateChangeBugsMe

A) Fix it
B) Ignore it
C) Keep feeding the fire

Are all choices. Only one of those is a viable choice.

Follow #Drawdown for solution ideas that fit your strengths & situations.
Stopping deforestation is one of the best things we can do for climate, nature, and people worldwide. But it still doesn’t get the attention or funding it deserves.

And that’s why we prioritize it in the new Drawdown Explorer.
One of Brazil's top priorities for #COP30 is to fund the Tropical Forest Forever Facility, which would finance efforts to protect forest ecosystems worldwide.

I attended a talk by a scientist at a Chinese University and realized that all the background climate data that she used came from the US (CO₂ Keeling Curve, global temperature time series, etc.). Although China funds a lot of research, the destruction of US science will affect science globally.

It is really getting harder and harder to glibly dismiss the data centre driven growth of demand in the US, which is causing coal growth domestically and impacting the entire planet's emissions

Yes you can present it with a huge denominator to make it look small but that doesn't change the dynamics
Chinese and EU emissions were more or less flat in 2025 (Chinese emissions may have actually declined slightly, but its too early to know for sure: www.carbonbrief.org/...).

US emissions increases drove much of the increase in global emissions in 2025.

Well, well, well. It turns out more voters blame fossil fuels than renewable energy for high electricity prices—and the most voters, correctly, blame utilities.

So if they promote more fossil fuels to lower costs, @mattyglesias.bsky.social, Dems will fail to campaign on voters' *actual* positions.

47 destroys things of national cultural and historical significance (East Wing, AID, Goddard, Rose Garden, Constitution, …) because in comparison they make utterly clear how small, petty, and insignificant his tacky gilded faux fancy flourishes and planned monuments to himself are.
Have you heard about this?

I’ve lived in Canada and Norway and the U.S. The U.S. “health care system” is ludicrously bad and unfair in comparison. The general quality of life is lower as well.

We pay more and get less. Must be a winning formula for somebody at everyone else’s expense.

Not allowing empirically verifiable facts to be stated does not make them go away.

47’s duck and cover presidency isn’t very inspiring.
We should have updated jobs numbers today.

But Trump’s government shutdown is leaving us in the dark about our economy.

And he won’t release the already prepared jobs numbers from September.

Trump needs to release this critical data NOW.

Why can’t we have nice things like cheap, profitable, clean green tech?

At every level, a choice had to be made (or sold or extorted) to NOT lead the world in this. At everyone’s ultimate expense.

Beyond short-sighted and stupid. It’s not even good greed.

Pretty cool! Companies that install geothermal heat pumps and/or thermal storage can get (and transfer) 30-50% tax credits, provided they retain ownership of the equipment and get paid via leases or other third-party ownership models. Quick thread with a few more details. 1/

And once they’re burned they’re used up, except for their contribution to global warming.

A ship packed with solar panels will weigh less and its cargo will keep producing energy for 30 years.

Without emitting greenhouse gasses.
A statistic that continues to live rent free in my mind: half of all international shipping is just moving fossil fuels around.

The sun shines just as well OboeBass! The US as in Australia. Seems like US policies on solar power are backwards and upside down to what they’ve figured out Down Under.

The sun charges the same for its photons everywhere.

$0 in perpetuity is a pretty good deal.
Absolutely amazing: they've got so much solar in Australia that they need more people to use more of it, so the gov't has instructed energy retailers to offer *at least three hours of free power* during the middle of the day.

Meanwhile fossil-addled US struggles with an energy-price crisis ...
