When "reality TV" becomes your reality, fake employees do fake tasks in fake 'teams' and then a guy shows up in full makeup for five minutes claiming to be in charge, and agrees people should be fired.

Congrats, America, you're officially the audience that paid an entrance fee to watch the show.
The problem is opposite to what Americans are told.

Mr. Tillis:

Your remarks are very America-centric. I would expect no less.

It's rhetoric like yours that is making Canadians step back from the US. It's "51st state" remarks and all you put us through. Blaming us won't fix your failing state.

We see what you won't.

"But since the fundamental level of reality is based on non-algorithmic understanding, the universe cannot be, and could never be, a simulation"

I was counting on this reality remaining a simulation. Bummer.

Reality *really* does bite.

Still, congrats to the team at UBC Okanagan.

If federal investment in AI for government purposes is the goal, I'm in favour of the investment, limited and thoughtful.

NOT worth the water chew if I google Mark Carney Rhodes scholar, and the AI tells me your wife is Chrystia Freeland (corrected after I reported it).
No one understands speculative bubbles better than Bill Janeway. And while he acknowledges uncertainty about when and how an AI bubble will burst - and its ultimate effects - he’s signalling concern.

“signs of leverage are beginning to emerge.”

If we're doing a +/- sheet on this government, this is a minus unless protections were negotiated. If I read in the future this is shut down down or the union affected adversely, my support will end.

Let's be clear about SCOTUS and Alex Jones:

SCOTUS simply declined to put Jones' appeal on their docket.
They didn't rule on it because they didn't take it up.
Whatever his lawyers put in front of them was considered insufficient and/or uncompelling.
They have not ruled on a case they did not hear.

I'm all for the pet photos, I enjoy them immensely.

I am starting to draw the line at anthropomorphizing them by giving them their own accounts and offering their english-adjacent commentaries. And costumes - why?

Let pets be pets, I'm not entering into parasocial relationships with them.

So SCOTUS declines to hear Maxwell's appeal, and the current WH occupant starts floating the idea of a pardon.

Because now he has to, since SCOTUS wouldn't help him wash his hands of this.
