Klobuchar is running for Governor, correct? (or rumored to be)

How's this gonna play with the people who had to stand in freezing cold to save their own asses?
Minnesota Governor candidate Amy Klobuchar: "We would like to see some bipartisan bills pass which can fund other parts of the government" and "ICE needs a complete overhaul" - "the surge has to stop" and "mandatory body cameras."

This is one of my favorite charts because the obvious implication is ... obvious, but you absolutely are not allowed to say it out loud in US public discourse.
Here’s hoping the rest of the world sees this and doesn’t hate us all.

"Removing bovino doesn't solve the problem"
I dunno, dude, it seems to entirely solve the problem of having bovino around. Bitch is a first town boss in a jrpg. He's not the end, but beating him allows you to progress and feel good about it.

A whole lot of Oregon workers that are represented here.

Starting to feel like "New Deal for a new millenium" could be in reach. It's always dark before the dawn.
There’s a big Labor Against I.C.E. event in Portland coming up on Saturday January 31st, and we are glad to amplify this important message.

Labor is at the forefront of our movement, and we are grateful for the leadership of these union leaders in this action.

I continue to believe that the fastest way to get Stephen Miller fired is to convince Trump that Miller's ICE operations are what cost him the Nobel Peace Prize.

Portland Mercury breaks down the Pickathon lineup.

Pickathon is back in 2026, announcing their initial music lineup today! The genres represented, as per usual, feature an expansive lineup of international heaters and regional heavyweights, and heavyweights in training.

Still waiting for @councilordanryan.bsky.social to address this.

Perhaps, as some think of the Epstein files, Ryan hopes it will just go away.

Someone asked me to try to better disambiguate Portland, Ore and Portland, Maine in my PDX Posts feed (which has been somewhat neglected of late).

I'm gonna attempt that tomorrow, I'll work on a copy but expect a little disruption.

The New York Renaissance is in full swing!
"The number of downloads...surged by 529% after Mr. Mamdani’s news conference"

"there had been 3,000 people on a waiting list to access a limited number of e-book copies"

"2,000 people applied for a library card over the weekend, roughly twice as many as had applied by this time last year"

A win!

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Stephen Miller Must Go
For any elected official who needs to hear this, I impart a lesson learned from the NFL:

When the other team is tired and on the back foot, you don’t call a timeout so they can catch their breath. You grind their fucking face into the dirt until the final whistle blows and you’ve won the game.

Bovino is just the patsy - a noxious and odious fall guy. Stephen Miller is the architect and prime mover of the whole thing. Everything they do is at his direction - often after his threats. As long as he runs policy in the WH, nothing will change no matter how many Bovinos come and go.
