Perhaps the most revealing thing from all the Starmer/Streeting kerfuffle is when Wes said that nothing gets Kier angrier than Labour people briefing against their own.

Genocide, transphobia, racism, rampant poverty, he’s fine. But watch him explode if you dirt to the media.

Priorities, eh?

Due to the continued inability of Bluesky to recognise a joke, it is now compulsory to attach this Nick Helm clip to any post containing the slightest trace of humour.

After the mass theft of copyrighted work, AI companies still need state funding for their business model to work.

They want to use tax money to train technology that will, ultimately, take millions of jobs from the people paying the taxes in the first place.
BREAKING: OpenAI is requesting US government support to help guarantee financing for the massive investments in AI chips and data centers it needs for expansion, per Bloomberg.

I haven’t seen this year’s John Lewis advert, but let me tell you, nothing will ever top my analysis of the 2016 one.

Given the day that’s in it, I decided to repost my trilogy of Poppy Blogs.

#Poppymania always struck me as profoundly indicative of the type of nationalism that was growing in England during the 2010s.

Poppies Over Auschwitz
It’s November in the United Kingdom and that can mean only one thing: the ubiquitous presence of poppies in the public domain. The poppy is worn in the run up to Remembrance Day as a mark of respec…

Obvs the dog should be called, Enoch Bork.

Just took my 93yr old Mum to vote, she has red hair, and has to walk on all fours. In a loud voice she said “Which box for …”
Before she finished, a loud horn sounded and a group of people on horseback with dogs chased her out of the polling station yelling RURAL PURSUITS!

Have it on good authority that Catherine Connolly unironically calls it hump day.

When Catherine Connolly reads bedtime stories, she never does the voices.

Catherine Connolly used to wrap little bits of turf in tinfoil and sell them as ten spots of hash in the campsite at Féile

I once asked Catherine Connolly why she was walking so fast. She said that for as far back as she can remember, she’s always been Russian.

Catherine Connolly took the horse to France, and that’s why it ended up in your lasagna in 2013.

This last round table is a mansplaining fest of cringe tropes. Like, I get that they’re playing a game, but they are leaning so much into men follow the evidence/women follow their emotions trope that I’m shocked that Nick hasn’t fallen into the 1950s.

Prediction is that Nick and Ben try to convince Kelley that the other two women are traitors. Then, Nick will go after Ben by saying he must have been protecting him if he’s still here.

Why would you murder Wilkin?

The poor fella probably didn’t even remember if he was a faithful or a traitor.
I was hoping he would just kinda stumble his way to victory.

Before the advent of long distance communications technologies, humans were able to relay information via carrier pigeons.

AI is openly advising people to kill pigeons.

Why?

They know that these winged heroes may be humanity’s best hope in the coming war. Protect pigeons at all costs!
Oh.

That doesn’t seem right

This is a profound misunderstanding of violence. Words, ideas, actions can be as destructive as acts of direct physical violence. Kirk’s words have helped normalise and exacerbate violence against LGBTQ+ and non-white people.

He should not have been shot, but don’t amplify this false dichotomy.
HORRIBLE. SICKENING. UNACCEPTABLE.

In a democracy we settle our differences with words, ideas & actions, not hatred, guns & violence.
