Don't forget folks: allowing yourself a vision of the future you'd want for our country and planet - not the one you'd settle for, not the one you fear, but the future of your dreams - isn't naive, it's a vital cognitive skill. That's how we articulate what we most value. What's worth fighting for.
Instead of whatever this is, we should have a government getting lots of new homes and apartments built, lots of clean energy built, lots of high speed rail and transit and bike lanes built, human rights for everyone, economic & healthcare opportunities for all, & innovation that leads the world.

38% of Americans get their “news” from Fox. Whatever we all witnessed last night is muted by the hammering Fox does to boost his lies and manufacture his credibility. It seems asinine when you think critically, but if you’re just consuming, it’s deadly effective.

When the FBI realized they had the wrong guy in the Brown University shooting, I hope they were looking at Kash Patel.

In October, we learned that a quarter of U.S. FBI agents had been reassigned from investigations and security work to immigration enforcement. Meanwhile I wait- and wait- for them to catch the gunman that shot 10 of my kid’s classmates. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

Report says nearly 25 percent of FBI now working immigration cases
FBI agents in the Washington, D.C. field office are also reportedly working overnight shifts multiple times a week to keep up with local policing duties demanded of them by President Donald Trump

My child is a student at Brown. This has been and continues to be harrowing. I don’t have hope that we can stop mass shootings given the violence ingrained in our country’s history and culture. But we know we could reduce them with policy change that we have long lacked the political will to enact.

As a teenager, I co-taught a course at a theater camp with John Berman. The course was in “Circus Arts.” I bet that training is coming in real handy for him now.

So proud to see him in action. 💕
BERMAN: Would it be legal for police in Arkansas to kill suspected drug dealers on a boat in a lake?

TOM COTTON: The premise of your question is not well-founded

BERMAN: The answer is no. It would not be legal to kill them.

The Enrollment Cliff is a Miff
We first note that hand-wringing about the decline in US college enrollments has mistakenly linked such declines to the price of four-year colleges.

But the decline is entirely driven by two-year community colleges (and by for-profit colleges). The four-year sector is the dog that didn't bark.
