Northern WI sustenance gardener/blue marble occupant 🌏🛸
Found a self-sown tomato plant late summer in a garlic bed. Popped it into the #greenhouse where it’s producing in low light and cool temps. This variety was brought to WI by Lithuanian immigrants and grows well along the lakeshore and up north. It’s named Sheboygan and is one of my favorites.

I think “liberals“ who spend their days in the social media echo chambers of their choosing should spend at least one hour a day perusing right wing media to stay grounded in reality. Fascism is stronger than ever, not just in the USA, but GLOBALLY. Liberal denial is KILLING us. Literally.

I have an idea. Let the state purchase manure spreading fields adjacent to rivers and lakes and plant trees for future generations to explore. These already toxic acres are basically brown fields yet we continue to foul the land and then grow food for dairy cows — a vicious cycle of poisoning.
We've made it a goal to plant 100 million trees in Wisconsin by the end of 2030, so it was great to join leaders in Oshkosh this week to plant trees by Lakeshore Park with the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers and employees from Cummins, who donated the trees. 🌳🌲

People were arguing in my mentions today about whether the Earth is "round" when it's technically an irregular oblate spheroid and look "round" doesn't mean "absolutely perfect sphere" it means round. A soccer ball is round, a cantaloupe is round, a fluffy borb in winter is round, just go with it.

I printed off lists to take with me when shopping as a reminder that WI food insecurity will increase next month. Choose low sugar, low sodium items if possible. In our northern county, a local grocery store and family dollar offer totes to fill that are delivered to local pantries.
