We’re in Brazil — one of the world’s great democracies, one of our biggest trading partners — and not a single person from the Trump Administration showed up.

That’s shameful.

Bats are found on every continent except for Antarctica, but their populations are falling.

Habitat loss, disease and pesticides have contributed to their decline but in recent years they have faced a growing threat: wind turbines. https://cnn.it/4p6UYAR

@boricuabc2.bsky.social Trump, Johnson and Thune are going to get rid of the #ACA #Obamacare - that's what's up. Democrats gave them a lifeline by bailing on the shutdown. It's nothing short of poliitcal malpractice.
I have a horrible feeling that Mike Johnson is not going to do SHIT to open the govt again, and that has me very scared. And it also tells me that SOMETHING else is up. But he needs 2 days to bring house back. And if he doesn’t call back today SOMETHING IS UP

Trump snapped at an NBC reporter for debunking his claim that Walmart’s Thanksgiving dinner will be cheaper this year than last. In reality, the Thanksgiving bundle he has has repeatedly touted actually contains less food than last year's.

I took a few moments this morning to write about why this shutdown deal sucks — how caving to GOP cruelty again is maddening. But also how it feels like the final gasp of an older Democratic Party that never really knew how to fight.

California’s leadership on clean air and climate began under Governor Ronald Reagan and was strengthened by President Richard Nixon — a bipartisan legacy more than half a century strong.

While Trump attempts to put our progress in reverse, California will continue to lead.

Is this guy for real - 30%? 🤣

There comments keep making everything much worse.
Angus King: "This initial strategy didn't work. And now we have one. We're gonna have a guaranteed vote on the ACA, and it may not succeed. I grant that. But a reasonable chance -- 10, 20, 30% -- is a lot better than 0% which is where we were."

@rbreich.bsky.social You r 100% correct. Democrats can't deliver - I am considering supporting a 3rd party if one is created from this mess.

Democrats were overwhelmingly united on their shutdown demands.

Americans understood that Trump and Republicans were to blame.

Voters made it known last Tuesday that they'll elect leaders who stand up to Trump.

Democrats held the cards — and folded for no reason.

Again, the divide in the Democratic Party isn't ideological. Plenty of moderates and center-left Democrats oppose this shutdown deal. It's about who has the stomach to win these fights against the Republicans. Who can throw a punch and who can't.

Perhaps it is time to start recalling Democratic senators who are failing us. #RecallSchumer #RecallShaheen #RecallKaine
"Democrats could have held the line on the shutdown, and spent weeks watching Trump’s approval ratings fall," writes Jonathan Chait. Instead, he argues, they're making a mistake by giving in:
Senate Democrats Just Made a Huge Mistake
The shutdown was hurting Trump. Ending it helps him.
