The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here.

But, while we can, say it anyway.
Dear Donald

I think you’ve got enough to worry about. So do one.

Yours

For what it’s worth …
We have very high expectations of the BBC, one such being that they will tell the truth.
We have very low expectations of Donald Trump, one such being that he will lie.
The BBC occasionally disappoints our expectations. Donald Trump never does.

Two musical offerings.
A clavichord once played by Mozart; and a piano owned by Beethoven and subsequently Liszt.
Both in the wonderful National Museum in Budapest.

If you can, get vaccinated! I can’t understand why so many of my over-65 cohort haven’t done so yet. Come on guys - get those sleeves rolled up.
Definitely worth paying for a flu jab this year, about £15 at pharmacies!

A couple of weeks ago I was reading the book. Now - on a trip unplanned at the time - I find myself in the National Museum in Budapest looking at this display of items relating to the events of ‘The Picnic.’ My wife says Fate; I say coincidence. Either way, incredible!

I do try to be tolerant of other people’s concerns when they differ from my own. Honestly, I do.
But if your biggest concern today is the John Lewis Christmas advert, then you really need to Get A Life.

That was rather splendid. The Hallé Orchestra and Choir performing ‘Harmonium’ - just awesome.
Very excited about going to see some of these pieces being performed by the Hallé Orchestra later this week, conducted by none other than the composer himself.

A terrific read. Not just as the history of a key moment; but as a timely reminder that the worst oppression can be overcome through courage, hope and no small amount of cunning. And when enough good people come together to do the right thing.

May they grow up as friends in a Ukraine without war.
An unexpected reunion of two friends at a train station.Illia&Nazar once lived together in Zaporizhzhia, but Russia’s war separated them

Their parents decided to surprise them:one boy thought he was going to Zaporizhzhia, while the other believed he was meeting his mother’s friends

If you voted for Brexit, then I nominate YOU to pay me what that has cost me. It’s only fair.
No crypto, thanks.

This book contains recipes (which should NOT be followed.) Mix equal measures of history, folklore, hagiography, mystery, tragedy, comedy - and you get a wonderful, heady feast.

I’m 65; and honestly, I do try really hard to avoid beginning sentences with, “Is it just me … ?”
But I can’t hold back any longer.

Always worth remembering: if being Worst UK Prime Minister of the 2020s was an Olympic event, Keir Starmer would finish outside the medals.

Let’s hear it for secondhand/pre-loved bookstores. The chance of a rare find combined with a bargain … who can resist? And in many, like this one, a purchase is a charitable donation.
