A NEW PARANORMASIGHT?!?!?!?! omg I played the first one on the Switch and then got another copy for PC cuz I loved it so much.
It's a solid horror adventure game. (I say adventure game and not VN because it's definitely more interactive than a traditional VN)
Alongside a Switch release, Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse will also release on Steam, iOS, and Android.

That's not to say you can't enjoy cartoons and animation as a 40-year-old. But holy cow, if it's something you care about, save up that money and commission a small artist.
You will treasure it way more.

Discovered there's graphic novel adaptations of A Song of Ice and Fire...and maybe it's personal preference, but I really don't like the art for it.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

Emily Dickinson was born on this day. It is hard, even for great art, to be profoundly distinctive, but it really feels as if hers was.

I’ve heard better dubs from the 90s. The original Sailor Moon dub is better than this. Hell, the CardCaptors (as in the Americanized version of CardCaptor Sakura) is better than this.
What the hell are we doing????
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

From someone who didn't realize then uninstalled.

- Doesn't disclose usage on steam which is REQUIRED!
- used for character generation
- NPCs use chatbots, even if selective
- people reporting generated npc voices

"But it's not a core part-" Playing it is still supporting the fascist theft machine

The low-angel Frieren meme is genuinely inspiring. Someone braver than the troops shares a picture they know turned out weird. Thousands start sharing their own art, offering advice and laughing together at something that is genuinely hard.

No ai to be seen --- just people supporting each other.

I’ve got two.

Wuthering Heights: opened my love for the gothic, finding symbolism, and amoral characters

Invisible Monsters: a book that my friend (who I was crushing on) was reading in high school. Opened my eyes to how books can be artistic. And that I might like girls (and guys).
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"
