the mid-transition concept has been living rent-free in my brain
"We build on the concept developed by Grubert and Hastings-Simon of the mid-transition, which we interpret as a volatile, unstable, and potentially chaotic period where we have the fossil-based energy system persists even as low-carbon technologies rise"

i may or may not document the experience of going to a conference in athens and not flying for at least one way of the journey. in some way taking a plane for the way back feels even more crazy because you see the difference of the different modes of transportation even more.

Amazing how the RRF is everywhere - while we looked at the "money in“ side of NextGenerationEU in our paper, the "money out“ pops up in unexpected places. Schrödinger’s off-balance sheet fiscal agency meets whimsical tram in the baltic sea town where i spent summers as a kid…

my friend played this, built only renewables and his result was "your city is in DANGER, your MONEY is very low!"
I didn't think I could still be shocked by fossil fuel companies' lobbying tactics but this story, first revealed by Malene Emilie Rustad at the Norwegian publication E24, is amazing.
