At this point, it’s utterly bonkers that any Democrat would trust any Republican to negotiate in good faith.

Speaker Johnson continues to stall the swearing in of Rep.-elect Grijalva so as to avoid having to deal with the Epstein discharge petition. Why shouldn’t Dems make support for reopening the government contingent on adding to the funding measure a provision mandating release of the Epstein files?

A reminder: Dr. Cook's mortgages are not the real issue. The threat to US macro stability is the clear intention of the Trump Admin to influence the composition of the FOMC in defiance of the structures designed to insulate the institution from such influence. Thank you for coming to my TED talk

I am against gerrymandering, but I am also against unilateral disarmament. Gavin Newsom’s plan to redistrict in California, to get more seats in 2026, and stop Trump in his tracks, should be replicated by Democratic Governors across the country. We need to actually fight here.

Typically within a 3 month window the response rate for a single monthly survey time improves to 90% which is why there are ongoing rolling revisions that are rarely as large as the downward 258K revision in June.

The numbers are not rigged and they are the gold standard internationally. #Econ

“For this cause they hate free society, free schools, free states, free speech, the freedom asserted in the declaration of independence, and guaranteed in the constitution.”

I can’t believe that “illegals” seems to have become broadly accepted as the noun referring to basically all immigrants who haven’t completed all the steps to become permanent residents.

It’s not even a good descriptor and it’s such a nasty, toxic word.

I dunno, but maybe Democratic members of Congress shouldn't go the White House picnic tonight and pretend everything's fine and dandy, unless and until Sen. Padilla gets a phone call apologizing for what happened from Donald Trump?

How about Democratic Members of Congress don’t go to a fucking White House picnic because the guy in the White House is a fascist, an authoritarian threat to this country, who’s disappearing people and inciting violence on our streets? Come on my fellow Democrats, enough already.

Senator Alex Padilla is one of the most decent people I know.

This is outrageous, dictatorial, and shameful.

Trump and his shock troops are out of control.

This must end now.
Senator Padilla is forcibly shoved out of Kristi Noem's press briefing:

"I'm Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the Secretary"
