Maria is one of hundreds of children, who — like Liam Ramos — have been held at a Texas detention facility where parents say children languish as they’re served contaminated food, receive little education and struggle to obtain basic medical care.

Here's our attempt at telling their stories. 2/
Children trapped in Texas immigration facility recount nightmares, inedible food, no school
A photo of Liam Conejo Ramos, a scared 5-year-old, drew attention to a detention center in Dilley, Texas. Advocates say his experience reflects what hundreds of children have endured out of public vie...

The revelations of how connected all the dudes outed during metoo truly were really expose the literal boys club at work in every industry. Heck, you don't even have to be directly assaulted or harassed to have your career derailed, you just have to exist. The blast radius is wide.

“Some people say we can’t get rid of an institution, but didn’t Donald Trump with just a few words in an executive order defund USAID? The reality is we could do it if we wanted to.”

This whole interview— yes to all of what Rep. Ramirez says!!
I got to interview IL Congresswoman Delia Ramirez about her proposals to dismantle DHS, abolish ICE, and redirect ICE funding to housing and healthcare for the communities it targeted. www.publicnotice.co/p/delia-rami...
Why Delia Ramirez thinks DHS needs to be dismantled
"Why would we ever want to give them more money to keep doing what they’re doing?"

👇 important 🧵 about Surprise, Arizona residents urging City Council to oppose “a massive warehouse concentration camp in their community.”
Powerful testimony drawing a parallel to the complicity of a WWII-era mayor in Germany who disclaimed any responsibility for the concentration camp in the town.
A resident named Walter calmly took the mic and recounted an April 9, 1945 newspaper clipping about the liberation of the Ohrdruf concentration camp...

"And we don't know exactly how ICE will use this warehouse. But we know enough."

Some people are asking what I want Schumer to do. He should be screaming over medical care and access to facilities. He should be going to detention facilities himself and putting his body on the line, as he did at the border in 2019. He should lean into stories about New Yorkers in detention. [1/4]
