We must impose heavy sanctions on Israel
The UK should use trade sanctions to pressure Israel as it did against apartheid South Africa.

There's natural variability in climate, but it's never changed so rapidly and dramatically. We know it's due to humans because when we only look at the natural forcing and ignore human influence, we can't reproduce the observed changes. It's real and it's us.

This is a terrifying @the economist front cover and we should all see it as such
It's a super stressful time because a lot of what Trump is doing makes the world way more chaotic and dangerous, which is already becoming more chaotic and dangerous because of climate change.
A gentle reminder that if we miss the 1.5°C target (and we certainly will), the next target is 1.51°C and not 2°C. We need to keep fighting.

Every tonne of CO₂ emitted makes the job of future CO₂ removal harder, and every 0.01°C of temperature increase makes the world more chaotic and dangerous.

Which is not to say we should just be mean in our communication, or not care about messaging or feelings. But accusations of not being “nice” enough get weaponized easily, especially against women (and moreso for BIPOC women).

There’s no magic phrasing for that works for everyone.

If human societies can collectively agree and reduce greenhouse gas emissions as fast as possible, ideally to zero before 2035, while also rewilding the forests that have been destroyed in the last 100 years, we might just have a climate that starts to cool again by 2050.

But those are big IFs.
