I think, therefore, I review.
I refuse to use the word "polycule" because it lacks whimsy or glee.

Y'all are in Barbershop Quartet.

Of the original "Big Three," Bleach is the one that resonates with me the most

I think it's because Ichigo feels like a protagonist I could actually be friends with

Naruto is too obsessed with Sasuke and Luffy is too one-dimensional/gag-jokey

Ichigo just had really good banter and chill moments.

An important thing to remember at times like this is that George Flyod's killer was found guilty and sentenced to +20 years in prison.

All the right-wing blame-game rhetoric means nothing in the courtroom.

It also reminds us to film everything. Video evidence is more powerful than their BS spin.

I saw the Numa Numa video for the first time in a while and boy did it make me want to go back to 2004.

Not for the purposes of "de-aging" myself, but to return to a brighter period of societal glee.

Everything online feels so toxic and absent of joy.

Come back YouTube Poop vids, we need you.

You'd think that Texas would love the concept of a BULLET train.

Marketing hasn't done a good enough job likening the train's speed to gunslingers or Superman ("faster than a speeding ____").

No one told me that Expedition 33's combat is Paper Mario 64 meets Bloodborne, I just had to figure out that awesome factoid for myself. 😢

Woulda picked it up sooner had I known.

I understand people aging into their 30's and 40's are grappling with mortality/time-displacement ("can you believe 2006 was 20 years ago??") but I can no longer participate in it

I don't want to spend the next 40 years being shocked that my 20's are over

I'm just glad no one has killed me (yet)

In rewatching Malcom in the Middle, the only episode that's aged surprisingly poorly is S2. Ep 6, "Convention."

The boys are babysat by a "sexy" girl that looks like she's barely 18, with the camera eye-humping her at every opportunity.

The weirdest part is Dewey is the one most attracted to her.

I imagine the hardest part of reaching 100 is realizing that everyone has breathed a sigh of relief and thinks "okay NOW you can die."

Maybe that's why George Martin won't finish the GoT books, so he doesn't reach that state of dark completion.

No amount of financial conservatism could cause me to overlook how much the GOP hates women, LBGT+ folks, and multiculturalism.

Everything else is extra handfuls of icing on the cake, but that core part of their political identity is the single-issue killer for me.

Hedonistic Pessimism:

"The over-indulgence in Costco's $1.50 hot dog/drink combo, knowing one day it will inevitably become more expensive or fucked up in some unexpected way, so you do your best to enjoy it before it's ruined."

There's a lot of great lines in Malcom in the Middle, but one that recently made me burst out laughing came from S2. Ep 17, "Surgery"

It's when Malcom's friends come to visit him at the hospital and tell him to guilt trip his parents.

Lloyd: "My strangulated testicle got me a week at Disneyland" 😭

Been watching the OG Star Trek for the first time and I'm surprised by two things:

1. Kirk is nothing like the lurid horn dog some media portray him as, instead being an honor-bound workaholic that's married to his job.

2. All the Kirk x Spock shipping Boomers did was 1000% justified oh mai gooood

Once again, I found myself caught in a brainrot plot synopsis video without really thinking about what I was watching

Thank God it triggered my "that's overwritten" brain chip

When it said, "the lights went out instantly," giant letters flashed in my head, screaming, "instantly is implied, silly"

Saw someone drew Pomni in a swimsuit and so many of the comments were saying "she's supposed to be flat" and "why'd you draw her curvy 😭"

Thing is, she was MAYBE at a C-cup. Nothing super crazy or weird.

It gave me intense flashbacks to the whole "Rose Quartz isn't supposed to be skinny 😤" shit.

I find it very strange seeing people try to "uncover" who is to blame for the quality of One Punch Man's third season.

The publisher, the animators, the management, the parent company, etc, etc.

Why does it matter? Are we going to hunt them down? Why can't we just write it off as crap and move on?

Being fat makes it harder for the Katamari ball to get you.

Saw a video of someone reviewing an Adventure Time episode.

It took me a moment to realize that they were just summarizing what happened.

Sure they had judgemental words sprinkled in, like "unfortunately, they fall in a pit of toxic waste" but that's it.

Everything else was just "and then" shit

In the same way that people notice trigger discipline, I notice and appreciate when podcasters/creators have the shiny plug of an XLR cable on their microphones.

You can definitely get by with a USB mic but if I see that XLR cable then I know this is someone in the game for real real.

"The best part about cave diving is you don't have to do it."

This implies that the worst part about cave diving is that you do have to do it.

Oh, you found a song through a popular meme?

Heh, it was revealed to me when I was high on quaaludes in an abandoned mineshaft.

The rhythmic water drippings from thirty-six stalactites hit that exact beat in an esoteric symphony that you couldn't begin to fathom.

Despite everything, you're still a family guy.

Something I feel some people miss about Gurren Lagann is that it isn't just about bursting limits or believing in yourself.

It's an acceptance that, while limitations are bad, unlimited power is also bad.

Characters eventually have the power to bring people back from the dead, but choose not to.

"(blank) has more frames than season 3 of One Punch Man!"

Season 3 still has more frames than y'all have jokes.

Just as "soda" has regional titles (pop, coke), I'm starting a movement where we refer to Princess Peach as "Princess Toadstool."

It used to be her name and I think it's pretty amusing/unique.

I think we've gotten too comfortable with the informal "Peach" title. We don't call Mr. Krabs, "Eugene."
