We convert vehicles to electric power. We focus on older vehicles and reusing components bound for scrap yards.

Located in Hawai'i, US. A veteran-owned small business
Engineering Update: Relocating shocks to make room for Volts. ⚡️📦

We’ve been heads-down in CAD redesigning the FrontiEV battery enclosures. The goal? Move the batteries from the truck bed to under the frame.

Most people see an electric truck and think about the motor. We think about the battery!

To get the FrontiEV battery under the bed, we’re designing custom enclosures. This isn't just "making it fit", its about meeting vehicle needs!

Question: would you eliminate the third box and 16% of capacity?

Is your car a good EV conversion candidate?

In our new blog post we break down:
• What types of vehicles tend to work well
• When a vehicle is not a good candidate
• How we evaluate your specific car or truck

If you’re curious where your vehicle lands, read the full guide:

Charlie Brown and I (and some friends) had permits to get trees from the Mokulē'ia Forest Reserve. So here's this year's Christmas tree loaded up and ready to head home!

An older article, but much remains true. Generally, EVs produce less carbon but highly dependent on electric grid's level of coal generation. Recycling lithium batteries is a growing option, but we prefer to reuse them in our RV conversions!

Bye bye #Miata1EV! We hardly new you!what a great platform to learn on. Looking forward to a real build on a Miata in better condition.

#Miata1EV subframe is out! Everything came off pretty easily except the swaybar endlinks. The LSD is still installed and may try to sell that as-is. Otherwise, we can pull and sell separate. It's not new, but only installed and never used!

Saving #Miata1EV subframe. We are convinced the Leaf motor and gear reduction will fit here! While in between builds, we are going to figure this out!

#Miata1EV disassembly update. The HV components are out! Next are some pieces to sell or keep for the next NA/NB Miata build!
December 6, 2025 at 12:44 AM
We see more Miatas in the future, so we are keeping some key pieces. First to come out are the #coilovers! How low can you go?

See? We're not the only ones that think EV conversions offer the real value!
For 100k you could buy two 1971 Chevy C10s (one of the best looking pickup trucks ever) and convert them both to electric and still have 20k left over for fun

At the vet least you'd have a real, functional truck

Electric conversions... Its a thing!

As more electric vehicles hit the road, the grid's power source becomes more relevant to how much carbon EV's are responsible for in their lifecycle. Internal combustion engines tend to become less efficient and release more carbon as they age, renewable energy grids mean EVs emit less as they age
Cutting clean energy just means higher bills, slower growth, and less reliable power.

While disassembling #Miata1EV, we wanted to share what worked. We reused the drive selector mechanics so that D and R were selected by new momentary push buttons. N was selected by pressing the original Leaf P.

This proved more reliable than the reed (magnetic) switches for D and R in #FrontiEV.

New plates, finally! Harder than it had to be, but it always is with City and County.

What are your favorite EV plates?

We need garage space! We already scavenged some parts from Miata1EV for the FrontiEV, now its time to get serious. First we will get the battery and all HV parts out to reuse later. Then some of the nice parts for our local Miata community! Stay tuned!

With growing renewable power generation, your electric conversion relies less and less on fossil fuels!

“We’re living through the fastest energy transformation in human history. Every previous large-scale shift in energy—from muscle power to wood to coal to oil—has taken decades or even longer. But the ‘renewable revolution’ is happening far faster.”
Climate action can feel slow – but the fastest energy leap in history has begun
Weaning ourselves off fossil fuels is glacially slow – isn’t it? This pessimistic narrative doesn’t stack up against evidence of very rapid change in the real world.
