Jack Smith: "As I testify before the Committee today, I want to be clear: I stand by my decisions as Special Counsel, including my decision to bring charges against Pres. Trump. Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Pres. Trump engaged in criminal activity."

Jack Smith: "If asked whether to prosecute a former President based on the same facts today, I would do so regardless of whether that President was a Republican or a Democrat."

Exactly.
The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same

I've noticed that ICE agents keep yelling "18 USC § 111" at people filming them. I'd like to see the memo they all got on that talking point, and I'd like to know who sent it. Filming ICE or alerting your neighbors to their presence doesn't violate § 111.

Right. This isn’t just unlawful. It’s fundamentally anti-constitutional, anti-republican (small r), and simply wrong.
Im seeing discussions about consultations with congress, authorizations of force etc. I have to say this transcends any of what I would call sub constitutional technicalities. The president has gone to war with a foreign power and, it seems, kidnapped a foreign head of state on the basis of nothing.

ACA tax credits expired on 12/31. Trump is not complying w Epstein release but what's come out is damning. Dead bodies in the Carribbean. Fragile peace in Ukraine and the Middle East. So House floor time next week will be dedicated to... rolling back shower head and energy efficiency standards.

The fog of what now? When did the United States Congress declare war on Venezuelan fishermen?
Q: So you didn't see any survivors after that first strike?

HEGSETH: I did not personally see survivors. The thing was on fire. This is called the fog of war. This is what you in the press don't understand. You sit in your air conditioned offices and plant fake stories in the Washington Post
