There are literally hundreds of ways to play Magic the Gathering.
Virtually all of them can be played without new or real cards. Most casual events allow proxies.
Quality and art direction are entirely negotiable for the sake of fun!

@girudo.bsky.social isn’t a discord alternative, but It has social elements that I think we can use to help stay connected through whatever the post-discord scenario looks like.

There are ways to enjoy these hobbies that do not involve retail consumption.
Magic has hundreds of ways to play, mostly with cards that aren’t new. You don’t even need real versions of pricey cards for most groups to let you in.
Heck, some prefer if you don’t!
