JCO is unquestionably a mean girl but occasionally, a vinegar-spirited poet is exactly what is needed.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.
Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."
Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

My all time favourite glow up is @themerl.bsky.social
30 years ago I endured a primary school visit to see rusty trowels, and now I’m subscribed to the podcast, up on absolute unit discourse and planning a return visit.
Might even take a selfie with some trowels.

Still can’t quite get over the fact I took a Masters in crime and thriller writing, to learn the intricacies of a plausible plot, but in real life a ladder up against the Louvre just works fine.

I remember my dad proudly producing ramshackle shelves, shattering plaster walls with 6 inch nails, and using industrial glue to reattach buttons, and thinking ‘I hope I never have to live with such botch jobs, that started out with such hope.’
But my husband has got into vibe coding, so alas …

Amazing how often people ask me how a guy is from my acquaintance across my career and after a moment’s pause, I find myself replying ‘I like his wife’.
