Horrible ideas really.

There is no money for a tariff rebate.

And 50 year mortgage?? Two fold bad on paying interest for 50 years and it will inevitably drive up housing prices even more.
QUINTANILLA: What's more likely -- a $2,000 tariff rebate check or a 50 year mortgage?

HASSETT: They're both really good ideas

I'm sorry, we're what now??

ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

Was just thinking about a play I saw last year: Laughter on the 23rd Floor

Neil Simon wrote it, maybe you've heard of him.

A variety show that does political commentary pressured by the network during McCarthy hearings...

Can't quite put my finger on why that's familiar.

So close there, but I'm thinking of another "m" word that better describes it...
JD Vance: "This idea that Gavin Newsom is somehow gonna mimic Donald Trump's style -- I think that ignores the fundamental genius of President Trump's political success, which is that he's authentic."

Could be wrong but, I don't think that's how coding works...
It has been brought to our attention that some sections of Article 1 are missing from the Constitution Annotated (constitution.congress.gov) website. We’ve learned that this is due to a coding error. We have been working to correct this and expect it to be resolved soon.

There are lots of wrong definitions of habeas one could give, but this is just about the *most* wrong definition possible.

Imagine a cabinet member being asked to define freedom of speech and answering that it’s the government’s right to stop you from criticizing them. About the same.
HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect

So… this was supposed to be about Paul Revere’s ride, but the Senator just unloaded about the Trump administration and its Republican enablers. Far more newsworthy than I expected. (You can probably see me shifting to “crap, this was not the interview I prepped!” but the result was memorable.)

Called my congressman who voted for the SAVE act.

Me: What documents will I need to vote if this passes?
Staffer: a DL and birth certificate.
Me: The documents don’t match
Staffer: Then a marriage certificate.
Me: Will my husband need the marriage certificate too?
Staffer: No
Me: See the problem?

Umm, this movie has been all my kids talked about for months. My daughter went with a friend Friday night and we went as a family of 4 this morning. Full EMax theater and the kids clapped and cheered throughout the film every time there was a fun reference.

This is not surprising for any parents.
“A Minecraft Movie” sold an astounding $157 million in tickets in North America from Friday through Sunday, according to box office analysts, nearly double the expected amount.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

For crying out loud.
For those playing along at home we are now at the: "Ok sure they're Nazi salutes - but that doesn't make them expressions of Nazism" stage of denial.

This my sense of risk factors has been completely thrown off. Is it safe to fly, should I get a new account number since I used direct deposit for my refund? I have no sense of reasonable risk calculation anymore.
I’m begging Democrats to stop talking about tax breaks for billionaires and the price of eggs! They are firing Air Traffic Controllers, stranding Americans in hostile countries, and getting ready to download our data from the IRS. No one is sitting around thinking “I’m worried about the deficit!”

History buffs will know that every authoritarian leader eventually converges on some version of: "I *am* the state. I can not break the law, I am the law, the law is instantiated in me."

Our march to authoritarianism so far has been excruciatingly by-the-book. Hitting every beat. No surprises.

Anything that isn't privatized and making $ for shareholders is seen as unworthy or lazy. That's capitalism: exploit everyone you can and accumulate all the wealth at the top.
🗣️ WILMORE: “a type of hypocrisy — hyperventilating over protecting middle class workers… unless they work for the government. Then they don't count. A different type of elitism on the right. Musk has been too flippant about this. These are people’s lives.”
