This is a screenshot from a writing program with the text that reads: The egg’s shell lay scattered, fragments scattered across the floor, forming a fragmented trail that led from its makeshift cradle to the far wall. There sat Fuku, his back leaning against the stone, all four legs forward—struggling, flailing, and very much failing—to fend off the advances of… a soft, squishy, pink piglet. Ben’s mouth fell open. His eyes went wide at the impossibly adorable sight. He dropped into a crouch without thinking, just to get a closer look. “Ben… you’re too late—” Fuku groaned. The piglet bounced against him, eager and relentless. Its curly tail bobbed merrily, downy wings fluttered with excitement, and little grunts squeaked from its snout as it tried to lick Fuku’s face.

A highlighted passage from a manuscript which reads: Their river “bath” wasn’t luxurious or relaxing. It was rapid—but refreshing. “I can’t believe how much gross stuff you’re covered in, Ben,” Fuku said—for the twelfth time—as he scrubbed, one paw gripping the handled brush while the other pinched his nose. “I’m not the only one who’s filthy, Fuku,” Ben replied. He held onto Fuku’s back legs, leveraging him upside down behind him as he scrubbed. Fuku’s idea, not his—but it did let the Tanuki reach the hard to reach spots rather efficiently.

My attention returned to the younger man as I watched him pocket a rag dried with blood. It caught my gaze as the features on his face and hands suggested he was not a soldier. The quality of his clothes did not bear the wealth of a physician, priest, nor the practice of a Paladin. He certainly wasn’t a butcher either. Local brawler, perhaps to break up the monotony of it all? Whatever the case, I took up a seat at the table nearest the front and placed my weapons on it.

"You don't get to act like some moral crusader against controlling boyfriends when you're acting just as controlling. Neither one of you are in charge. Get over it. Neither one of you gets to decide who we are." "We?" Andee asks. "Yes. Keep up. We've been over this at least twice. And you—" I- Wright, we, whatever— turn towards Red. "You, buddy, should never have gotten involved in the conversation in the first place. "But—" Red protests. Wright cuts him off. "You don't have to like Andee. Andee doesn't have to like you. But all you did was throw gas on the fire. You don't get to act all butthurt when it blows up in your face." "You're Wright, aren't you?" Andee asks. "Did Cainen let you out?" "It doesn't matter who I am. Trust me when I say I'm speaking for both of us." Red scoffs. "Yeah, right." "Shut up. Just because Cainen puts up with you doesn't mean I have to. I'm not your friend. I'm not either of your friends. I'm here because even writhing in the eternal torment of your frail adolescent minds is better than being a speck of dust floating in an endless void with nothing but bad memories to keep you company."
