Some simple shutdown math: $7–$15 billion per week sounds huge. In context, the U.S. produces ~ $538 billion per week. So the hit is roughly a couple of percentage points of a week’s output, or a few hundredths of a percent of annual GDP. Painful waste, yes. Economic catastrophe, no.

People marvel at this, but this is what it’s all about for Trump. He needs this constant lavish praise as deeply and profoundly as you and I need air.

But also: Imagine what a basket case you would have to be psychologically to need this all the time.
Pirro: "Mr President, there is in this room a group of people who love you, who believe in you, and who are so proud to be in this Oval Office and to be part of this amazing day because you have changed the course of America."

JAKE TAPPER WHERE ARE YOU
Trump: "You have people in Chicago, beautiful Black women wearing a MAGA hat, red MAGA hat -- 'please come Mr Trump, president' -- they call me president, they call me mister, they can call me whatever they want. 'Please come President Trump, please come.' They're begging us to come."

Je zult de media er hier met geen woord over horen, maar dit soort waanzin wordt door Trump en Fox de wereld in geslingerd.
INGRAHAM: Is affordability a voter perception issue of the economy, or is there more that needs to be done by Republicans?

TRUMP: More than anything else, it's a con job by the Democrats. Are you ready? Costs are way down.

It can be hard to do math in your head, while standing up, on national television. Nerve-wracking, too. But even so, in twenty seconds on the air, I did a better job than the President in costing his latest idea and figuring out whether his new idea of a $2,000 rebate check will work. (It won't.)

Yesilgöz geniet van haar positie: een sleutelrol, aandacht, politiek overleven en lekker dwarsliggen. Verantwoordelijkheid nemen hoort niet bij haar kleinzieligheid.

Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

The Netherlands just elected a young, upbeat, openly gay prime minister who’s talking optimism, growth, and even building new cities, and somehow, it’s working!

Trump's tariffs are hurting us in two ways:

First, the obvious: Higher costs → either lower profits or higher prices.

Second, more subtle (perhaps bigger): We’ve signaled we’re an unreliable partner, so allies are reorganizing supply chains to avoid us. That's hard to unwind.

During an event on Thursday, Donald Trump seemed to repeatedly struggle to keep his eyes open.

A Washington Post analysis of multiple video feeds found that Trump spent roughly 20 minutes battling to keep his eyes open.

The press lost its shit for weeks at the mere thought of referring to Trump and his political movement as "fascist."

Republicans meanwhile use every -ist epithet they can muster against Democrats of any stripe and the press doesn't say a word.
