I take care of children who DIE of conditions that we can’t prevent and that despite our very best efforts we cannot cure.

The fact that CHILDREN DIE of diseases that can be completely eradicated with safe and effective vaccines makes me LIVID.

This is what amounts to an ILLEGAL & indiscriminate funding cut for research centers everywhere. It will mean shuttering labs across the country, layoffs in red & blue states, and derailing lifesaving research on everything from cancer to opioid addiction.

We all need to speak out to save lives.

They are coming after scientists. Everyone should care about this. The next cure or lifesaving device may not get discovered.

Government is like we all chip in and help each with things like food safety or health insurance and sometimes the person we’re helping is you or your dad or sister or kid when they have cancer
This is happening to thousands of people fighting for their lives because in real life, government does a lot of good and important shit.

And I hope they learn a lesson or two about using their power for good in the future.

Someone who wants to end fact checking wants to be able to lie to you without detection.

When lies are undetected, they start to shape our reality. We’re a lot more vulnerable when we can’t tell that a lie is a lie.
