As a Girl in Prison, I Experienced Degrading Health Care
Getting health care in prison is challenging at the best of times. In the worst of times, it is degrading and disparaging.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

There is a common misconception that sex workers cannot be survivors of domestic violence. But, research shows they experience DV at high rates due to the intersection of anti- sex worker stigma, criminalization, racism, queerphobia, and gendered stereotypes.

EXCLUSIVE: Someone Waived Ghislaine Maxwell's Sex Offender Status to Move Her to a Minimum Security Camp in Texas
According to sources, you can't move someone with a Public Safety Factor (PSF) designation - which Maxwell had - without waiving it. That's what happened here.

Welcome to the wonderful world of "trafficking."

The grift is in no way limited to Epstein. Anti-trafficking in general is a faith-based morals campaign serving as cover for state surveillance and increased criminalization of sex workers.

Services and justice survivors is the lowest priority.
What bothers me so much about the Epstein story being a political football is that nobody gives a shit about the actual victims. It's just a political weapon to attack opponents with and indulge conspiracy theories rather than seek actual justice for those involved.

I just left the Everglades Immigrant Interment Camp. No, I’m not using their ridiculous name. It was a very tough to witness humans in those cages. Every Floridian should be ashamed that our taxpayer money is being used for this.

this is the level of funding where all the possibilities for American politics that have been described as hyperbolic over the past decades - the comparisons to Nazi Germany and other nightmares of the 20th century - become logistically possible and politically likely
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

MYTH 1: All sex work is trafficking

This myth ignores the distinction between consensual labor and coerced exploitation.
Policies built on this myth lead to increased policing, harmful rescue raids & mass criminalization—none of which protect victims.

What's happening with these grants is much more complicated and mostly unknown. None of the NIH have been officially cancelled. The NIH was just ordered to stop paying. They got the Unis to enforce silence on their own campuses because they thought they were "negotiating" and cld get the funds back.
