The Pipevine Swallowtail Complex describes the group of butterfly species that gain protection from predators by resembling these guys. The pipevines they eat as caterpillars make them toxic and bitter-tasting to birds. I see them often in my garden. 1/2 #butterflies #gardening #lepidoptera 🌱 🦋
