I've started yet another BG3 game but this time with dark urge and trying to see some of the evil-choices content I haven't experienced before. But man, I really dont want to hurt these npcs lol. I guess my dnd edge lord days are behind me.

I've been mentoring some 1Ls in their 1st semester. For the first time in a long time, I had a law school stress dream. Spent all dream figuring out what the assignment even was only to find out it's due today. My eyes popped open, wide awake in the dark, & in my head was "No, we're not doing this"

Freaking diabetes - even just stress raises your blood sugar

Stressful sit at work and was feeling weird, and yep, CGM clocked a spike to 200 despite sticking to diet control, meds, water, rest.

I hadn't done anything wrong except I guess build a career on managing other people's crises lol

I finished The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch at like 2:30 this morning because I couldn't put it down. And now that the sun shining, I'm just gonna need a minute to just...sit and process.

That was a good book. I both loved and hated the ending, impressive lol

So, I've been getting spam calls w/ background office noise and a harried "Hello? *pause* Are you there?" and if I say something, it launches into a Medicare spiel. But if I reply "you sound like AI," it hangs up immediately. Maybe I should start replying with verbal prompts lol.

I never succeed at the novel writing month, but I like the exercise of it and adding every year to my graveyard of ideas :D

I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.

Post something random or you’ll have an awful November.

I haven't mowed a small bit of our back yard all year, mostly to find out what would grow on its own. But then I noticed over the summer I had more lightning bugs. And then I started to hear more crickets, and then more frogs in the evening. Lately it's moths, and now these guys are hanging out :)

Dallas didn’t disappoint. #NoKings

One of many favorite things about the #NoKings march in Dallas today - all the little American flags and the speakers who reminded the crowd that solidarity, kindness, justice, and diversity are what make us great. This is the America (and the Texas, for that matter) that I want to believe in.

I take it back. Avocado as a base for a "shake" (to get the creaminess instead of ice cream), that one wins. I'll accept it.

(Bananas make my stomach hurt, which is why I hadn't already tried these kind of smoothie/shake recipes so far)

Newly-diabetic frustration- I'm growing tired of "try X, it tastes just like Y" suggestions. It doesn't. It probably does taste fine, but its not "just like it." Cauliflower rice is pretty good, but I'm also pretty sure the people telling me it's just like rice are just bad at making rice.

I have a rocky relationship with the Catholic Church, but watching the video of them being denied made me so sad. They were singing Pan de Vida in the background, a song I loved when I used to be in the church choir with mom and dad as a kid.
Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

I play with a group of Dnd-or-nothing guys. Once, I got them to try HoneyHeist. It was like 3 yrs ago, but we still have jokes from that session that will reduce the table to tears. New players are regaled with the tale of The Best Driver and feeling bad about accidentally mauling a security guard
Some of the biggest stories come from the smallest packages.

What's a micro-RPG, one-page #TTRPG, or a #zine game that delivered an experience way bigger and more memorable than its tiny size would ever suggest? We NEED to hear all about the tiny titan that gave you an epic evening!

Tech rehearsal night! It's such a cool opportunity to get to play at the Moody Performance Hall :)

If you want to support a queer community band here in Dallas as we celebrate 45 years, there's still a chance to buy tickets before the concert tomorrow :)

So, I'm diabetic now & still quite angry. But you know what wasnt on my bingo card? Cheesecake Factory has an *actual* low carb/low sugar menu that tastes good. My blood sugar didnt spike and stayed in range the whole night. Cheesecake Factory of all places lol.

I've been enjoying and listening to Shadows in the Smoke played bt Kitten Marlowe lately. I don't know if it's a quirk of the rule system or the players, but hearing "it's worse than that" when the GM essentially takes a hard move just makes me very happy haha
