It’s not that they can’t sell stuff. Obviously they can. It’s that the vetted AltGov accounts do not sell stuff and it is tiresome to be lumped in with AltNPS and their less than transparent use of the funds they receive.

This is not a Christian nation. It’s not a Jewish nation, and it’s not a Muslim nation. There is no state religion. It’s a secular nation. It’s a nation founded upon religious freedom. Grow up and quit spreading disinformation.

Gupta: He keeps citing this constant passing of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment test…

This is not a tool that the general public should be utilizing with that level of frequency unless there’s a reason to do it—which is to assess and monitor the evolution of mild dementia or impairment.

As you read through the articles
remembering the celebrated
and noteworthy figures
whose “lives we lost in 2025”
please, my friend,
spare a moment to remember those
whose were lost to Covid in 2025
for all of those lives
were celebrated and noteworthy
by someone too.

The Department of Health
for the state of New York
has confirmed
that New York is experiencing
the “most flu cases
ever recorded in one week,”
which I suppose means
that the flu
is ending the year
on a high note.

As you look back at
all that happened
in the year that was,
remember: alongside
all that happened
there was also (still)
the pandemic,
and as you look forward at
all that might happen
in the year that will be
remember: the pandemic
is (alas) still happening.

I have heard it said
that at the moment
the flu
is spreading like wildfire,
but this is inaccurate
this comparison
is really quite inaccurate,
for when a wildfire is spreading
most people know better
than to carry flames with them
wherever they go.

When you hear
comedians disparaging those
(those such as yourself)
who continue to wear masks
do not focus on their words
or on those who snicker,
instead remember
your teacher who asked
“would you do the right thing
even if people laughed at you”,
and know
you can answer: yes.

You need not remember
where you were on this day
six years ago
when an emergency notice
was issued from Wuhan
regarding “pneumonia
of unknown cause,”
you need not remember
where you were on that day,
but you must remember
that where you are on this day
is still in that pandemic.

Take heed, my friend:
for the year isn’t over yet
and you still have time
to end it
on a positive note.

And take care, my friend:
for the year isn’t over yet
and you do not want
to end it
by testing positive
for flu or Covid.

you should know better
than to say: that at least
the coming year
can’t be any worse
than this year was.

this year
she has to figure out
how to
finish her book

My friend says
this year
they have to figure out
how to
save money

My friend says
this year
he has to figure out
how to
scroll less

My friends
this year
we have to figure out
how to
take care of each other.

When she asked
if I had any resolutions
for the new year
I told her my resolutions are
to avoid getting sick
and to avoid getting
anyone else sick,
and when she sighed
and said that those
had been my resolutions
from last year
I replied:
I’m still working on them.

I have heard
that if you want
good luck
in the year ahead
you should
eat black-eyed peas.

I have heard
that if you want
financial success
in the year ahead
you should
eat collared greens.

I have heard
that if you want
good health
in the year ahead
you should
wear a mask.

In lieu of resolutions
my aunt lists what she hopes
for more and for less of
in the coming year,
so in that spirit:
let us hope for more
looking outwards
and less staring at screens,
more pursuing the good
and less chasing the goods,
more solidarity
and less
and much less plague.

know that it isn’t,
know that it really isn’t.

now that Thanksgiving
and Christmas
and New Year’s
are all behind us,
you can finally say:
that you
have survived the holidays,
and so now
all you need to do
is make it through
the ordeals that await you
until it is time
to once again try
to survive the holidays.

that his motto
for the new year is:
“live every day
like it’s your last,”
but if you, my friend,
would prefer
to live every day
in the hopes
of reaching the next one,
you should really consider
putting on a mask.
