I 100% endorse this message. The spoiled votes are a 3rd or 4th order story in this election and disproportionate attention and airtime is a measure of the level of editorial discomfort with talking about Connolly’s success and FF/FG failure.
Catherine Connolly got more votes than any other president in history - any pol corr or commentator trying to convince you that the story is actually the spoiled votes is showing you their whole arse, and should be treated accordingly.

Sarah Carey, in the course of criticizing Connolly, mentions how many Irish journalists are paid to go on jamborees to Israel to get that genocide-performing nation's point of view, and I'd actually like to hear more about that please.

Seeing as it was a puff piece for an AI event he is sponsoring. I would say no, they could not ask a question.
Would it have killed the IT to ask one fucking question.

Big tech promotes the story that since ChatGPT burst onto the scene, AI has been so popular it's rushed to meet the demand. The reality is different. A study by design scholars shows tech co's have had to push AI on its users with a variety of intrusive tactics.

Plus, OpenAI's absurd listening tour, top AI scientists say AI is evolving beyond our control, Facebook is putting data centers in tents, and the AI bubble question — answered?

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

We have learned nothing.

Vast cost overruns are not due to good design. They are due to no design.

Also, why is our political system so aggressively mediocre?

By coincidence I was passing Tuam today as the hoarding went up around the Mother & Baby Home site. A discreet and respectful veil.

It’s 11 years since I took this photo of Catherine Corless at her kitchen table. I rang her today just to say hi.

So not only are their ideas blatant libertarian / randian shite. They also either a) believe everyone is a gullible idiot or are b) gullible idiots themselves
The founder of Progress Ireland insists he is free from the ideological influence of his funders, who are all very right wing. He also says these funders don't want any influence over Progress Ireland, they're just funding it cause they believe in the project so much! Isn't that just peachy for all
This is a fascinating look at influential think tank Progress Ireland, who's behind them, and what they believe. Yeah, I'm biased, as it's written by @lokapila.bsky.social, but still ...
