I made the mistake of creating a Twitter account to see what people are saying over there and on my god it's worse than I remember. Just an unending stream of uncensored slurs and hate. I hope they are all bots because if those are people I'm not sure where we go from here as a society.

Mfw it looks like the guy who killed Charlie Kirk was actually a Republican, lifelong pro 2nd amendment, MAGA nut job. I wonder if the GOP members that demanded democrats take ownership for this "violent leftist" are gonna take ownership now that we know it was one of them.

Is there a word for the despair one feels when your government is seemingly intentionally evil and yet no one in power does anything? This isn't a new feeling obv but I need a snappy word for it. Is there a word like schadenfreude we can take from German for this? Other languages are available.

I am actually kinda annoyed that a serial sexual predator in Annoying Orange drag (but make it fascist) was able to bully one of the wealthiest companies on Earth to just incorrectly label a geographical feature so he could stroke his ego. I will literally never stop calling it the Gulf of Mexico.

I wonder how often we'll see Republicans deadnaming the Gulf of Mexico if we legally change its name. If they can all stop calling it the thing it has been referred to since the 17th century we should never allow the excuse of "not being used to it" to exist unchallenged for trans people.

There's something really profound about going to an Irish Pub where 99% of the clientele are white middle aged men watching sports and taking over the jukebox and playing the Wicked soundtrack. The tonal, cultural dissonance is literally measurable. It's really something everyone should experience.

It's crazy how different this place is than the other one. I can actually spend more than 5 minutes on this app without becoming depressed or angry. Instead it's people making jokes about cuneiform clay bulla, cats, or Eleanor Rigby in a Burger King bathroom hovering to shit. A breath of fresh air.
