I recently interviewed Dee Murphy, 70, who was detained at gunpoint by Israeli forces while on a humanitarian mission to Masafer Yatta in May.

I wrote this as an introduction to the situation in MY for those unfamiliar, and an update for those who are.

Who doesn't want a bailiff-free Britain?

Today @acornunion.bsky.social took over the CCUA conference in Leeds - a yearly event where council officials mingle with the unregulated cowboy bailiff firms they hire to collect council tax debt and carry out evictions.

Bailiffs are scum, we don't want them in our communities and we don't want them in our country.

We urge every one of our supporters to join ACORN, because this union is fighting to kick bailiff leeches out of Wales.
NEW CAMPAIGN 🚨

Right now, people are pushed into poverty when councils send in bailiffs for council tax debt.

But there’s another way.

Together, we can stop this. Together, we can have dignity not debt. Together, we can make Britain Bailiff Free👇

In July, we decided to try to meet Nikki and Sion's landlord again by visiting the address listed in their contract - which is in Newport. A group of us went with Nikki, who brought with her all the necessary documents and evidence to make it easy for the landlord. At last, we met the man! (5)

Cardiff Council are trying to kick 17 families out of their homes for alleged links to the 2023 riots.
This is disgraceful behaviour from the council. They have no desire to help those in need and instead look to punish those who were expressing anger over a devastating event in their community.

Hey. Do you have money? Do you need something to do with that money? How about sending some of it our way so we can continue to help provide food for hungry families in Abertawe?
You get to help people AND stick a middle finger up to government that has reneged on its responsibilities.
