Good morning.

If the the Senate passes the Republican budget bill, 40% of American families - those with lower and middle incomes - will LOSE money. They will become poorer.

But the richest families will get an average $270,000 tax cut.

Because they only care about the rich.

This is unfathomably shameful. How do we even have to debate this? Why would anyone ever again be so foolish as to trust or help the United States if this is how we treat people who risk their lives on our behalf?
An Afghan man who worked as a translator for the U.S. military during the war was detained by ICE after showing up for a hearing inside of a federal courthouse in San Diego, his attorney says. He fears that if he returns to Afghanistan, he would be tortured or even killed, @nbcsandiego.com reports.

If you need to blame anyone, blame the House Republicans who left DC yesterday -- abandoning their jobs before the budget was passed. The power of the purse has to be guarded.

Arresting someone without charge, explanation, or due process to silence dissent is unconstitutional. This type of thing happens in dictatorships, not America.

You don’t have to agree with Mahmoud Khalil to defend his rights—if his freedoms can be taken by the Trump administration, so can yours.

He says this without having one shred of evidence. It's total bullshit. And it is driving US policy and will wreck the lives of millions of Americans.
Musk: "The waste and fraud in entitlement spending -- that's the big one to eliminate. That's the half trillion, maybe 600 or 700 billion a year. That's also the mechanism by which Democrats attract & retain illegal immigrants by essentially paying them to come here & then turning them into voters."

House GOP bill to extend federal spending would also undo the D.C. government's 2025 budget, because it doesn't have language usually included in short-term spending bills that lets the District spend locally raised funds before Congress formally approves www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

The bill aimed at preventing a government shutdown would make D.C. revert to its 2024 spending. City officials fear cuts to police, schools and other services.

I tried posting this to X. But due to Musk’s cuts, his app isn’t working right now 🙄

Let me speak to the DOGE audit language. Many people who work in both the Treasury and specifically the IRS are CPAs. Most audit firms hire CPAs. A 19yo coder has absolutely no idea how to accurately identify waste or fraud. Calling what DOGE is doing as a audit, is a flat out lie.
