Both Rubio's tweet, and the response, are remarkable artifacts. You have a Secretary of State tweeting right wing talking points to defend Neo Nazis, and the country where Nazis originated telling him to sod off.
Rubio publicly criticizing an ally for cracking down on right-wing extremism. And Germany hitting back. We are in a new world

“In the face of recent abrupt shifts in federal funding for education research, including large-scale terminations of National Science Foundation (NSF) research grant awards, we have developed a rapid response bridge grant opportunity for impacted scholars”
FYI: The Spencer Foundation, Kapor Foundation, The William T. Grant Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation have collaborated to offer $25K rapid response grants.

"This rapid response bridge funding opportunity is for scholars and teams whose grants have recently been cancelled by NSF."

This is one I’m lifting up because it’s personal. I know that it’s a tough time for a lot of us; the way through it is together. I can’t give much more than a share here, but anyone who can give more than that, please consider.
I still need help. So far we’ve raised about $80. Please any help is welcome. I need $600 for rent, just rent. With $100 for groceries for the rest of the month.
I need $700 for rent and groceries for April. It is hard in these times to reach out and I hesitated to bring my needs here, but as my debt weighs me down and job rejections pile up. I’m reminded that needing help isn’t being a burden.

Trump's top border goon whined that Chicagoans are so educated about their rights that it's messing with ICE's raids. Today in @thenation.com, organizer Raeghn Draper tells us how the city is resisting—and how you can too. A great reminder—we're NOT helpless! www.thenation.com/article/acti...
Think There’s Nothing You Can Do to Stop ICE? Think Again.
Chicago’s years of organizing against immigration raids are a blueprint for real resistance to Trump’s attacks—as even his top goons acknowledge.

As someone who has reported on AI for 7 years and covered China tech as well, I think the biggest lesson to be drawn from DeepSeek is the huge cracks it illustrates with the current dominant paradigm of AI development. A long thread. 1/

I want to remind everyone that your local library is both physical AND digital.

You hate streaming everything because the price is ridiculous? Library.

You hate ads because they're every 3 mins or less? Library.

You want to reduce your digital footprint? Library.

You want sourced info? Library.

For the last couple of years, library workers have been begging and pleading for attention on this. If you think this won't happen in your community, guess what, it will. You *have* to get involved. Now. Don't wait until the ban is in place.
With a press release titled “U.S. Department of Education Ends Biden’s Book Ban Hoax,” the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (DOE OCR) has dismissed all complaints of book banning that it had been investigating.
