God didn't fire the experts at the NWC and leave positions unfilled and fail to make sure alerts go to those who are vulnerable. It isn't like Texas officials didn't know that little kids were in camps all along this flood prone river and thus alertness and warning were vital.
"I sure as hell don’t think it was God’s plan for local officials to somehow not have implemented an effective warning system in the past 40 years, even with constant reminders that it was needed."

I see this sentiment a lot in video essays, but I don't agree that people's media literacy skills are low as a result of bad or mediocre movies being released by major studios.
Media literacy is low right now because of online grifters and online spaces reinforcing arbitrary tribalism.

We have 3 parties now. We just don’t know it yet. The Progressives need to recruit some of the concessionary Dems and start working to stop the authoritarian Repubs.
