Expanding on this: I especially like the part of "work towards building something good" that includes putting your effort into things that already exist, right now.
It's way easier to get started on building good when you're not starting completely from scratch. Great way to meet like-minded folks!

As daily goals, "stop fascism," "defeat evil," and "save the world" probably aren't going to get you anywhere, and might leave you feeling overwhelmed and helpless, but "work towards building something good" is always achievable, concrete, and useful.
