I miss when video games were an experiment

✔ NYC game dev - Did some stuff like socials and expos, was fun
🤏 Health - Started cooking regularly instead of ordering takeout constantly, but didn't exercise much
❌ Art - Did a lot of color tweaking for A Little Perspective and tried blender for like a day, but I don't think that cuts it
All that in mind, my 2025 goals are:

- Go to more in-person game dev things in NYC, so I can get playtest feedback on my game and get the demo in shape.
- Get back into running/take my health more seriously.
- Take a shot at properly learning blender/game art.

it sucks to work on something that's important to you because then if people don't like it, it really hurts your feelings. i solve this by using my superpowers to explode those people with my mind

Playtesters starting to make it into the late game and oh god oh man I have a lot I need to edit 😅

My biggest pet peeve so far about Stranger Things season 5 is that everyone is always like "what if <guess>" and they're correct on the first guess every single time

After ruminating on this for a couple days I've come to the conclusion that I should just remind myself more that games are allowed to be games for the sake of being silly games.
A puzzle game came out this year that everyone adores (100% positive on steam) but I find really boring. I don't want to be the first to leave a negative review, but I want to explain why I dislike the game *somewhere*, because I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I see the reviews.

I've not been consistent with sharing progress lately, half due to avoiding spoilers, half due to introverted laziness. Maybe some day I will post cool clips again.

I've officially been working on A Little Perspective for 2 years.

Been watching a few people playtest the full game, and there's feedback to address, but a lot of the cool moments of the game are getting the reactions I've been hoping for.

Getting close, just a matter of closing things out now!

Guys I want to redesign the hub a third time
Good news: I've sent out the full version of A Little Perspective to a few friends to playtest!
Bad news: I already feel compelled to redesign the entire overworld, don't let me do it

I can tell the game is getting close to being done because I'm starting to write code that looks like this

A Little Perspective was in Gamer Social Club's top 5 at #PlayNYC 👀

I think it's because @cybrlich.bsky.social was our neighbor and the awesomeness overflowed into our booth.

#PlayNYC2025 was fun. My feet hurt from standing 12 hours a day and my social battery is at -300%. But it was fun.

Final stats for A Little Perspective:
290 people played the demo (2 of them were Hatsune Miku)
30 people reached the end
1 person beat one of the secret levels 😮
