They are in a cave system with bright cyan pools. In the first panel, Abubakar says, “Subsurface development changed the probability of crew fatality. I had not anticipated this when I put you on the mission.” Nako asks, “Getting trapped, you mean?” In the second panel Utut is near a pool and says to Abubakar, “Not my first mission, love. Consider making 2026 the Year of the Personal Website. Even a little thing on Neocities works. It’s just nice to have a home base on the internet that you don’t have to deal with bsky mods are random popping into every post and if something goes wrong with your host, you just move it elsewhere

Panel 1: Inside a Bajoran shrine. At the front of the room is a reliquary for an Orb, with a kneeling bench in front of it. A woman stands next to it, and a little girl stands back and to the side a bit, clutching her plush palukoo doll. Both woman and child are cloaked in deep shadow and we can’t see details of either. Panel 2: We get a close-up of the woman as she prays in Bajoran. We see that she is Bajoran and is wearing a Dominion-War-era Starfleet uniform (command division, provisional rank of Lt. Commander). Panel 3: The girl sits on the floor and plays with her doll. We see that she’s half-Bajoran and half-Trill. She hears the *whoosh* of a door opening and turns to look, curious. Panel 4: A Cardassian soldier has entered the shrine, cloaked in deep shadow so we don’t see many details. The child has dropped her doll. Child: …Marnah… Panel 5: The Cardassian aims his phase-disruptor rifle and fires several blasts in rapid succession. Panel 6: The child rushes forward, arm outstretched and screaming. Behind her, we see her as a grownup: Lt. Commander Ezmi Idaris, wearing her own modern Starfleet uniform, rushing forward and screaming just like her child version is. Child Ezmi and Adult Ezmi: MARNAH! Panel 1: Ezmi sits up in bed in her quarters, screaming with arm outstretched, just as she was in her dream. This wakes up Ti’Ana, who’s lying next to her. Ezmi: MARNAH! Panels 2 and 3: Ti’Ana grabs her phaser from a bedside holster and taps the comm panel on her nightstand. Panel 4: Ti’Ana holds her phaser ready and scans the room for whatever her girlfriend was just screaming at. Next to her, Ezmi is visibly freaked out by her dream and panting to calm herself down. Ti’Ana: SECURITY ALERT! MY QUARTERS. Ezme (quietly): no. Panel 5: Ti’Ana reaches out to comfort Ezmi, who’s curled up clutching her knees, crying. The chirp of a doorbell can be heard offscreen as Security arrives at their quarters. Ti’Ana: Ezmi? Ezmi: stand down. Ti’Ana: Another nightmare about your mother? Security (thru comms): SECURITY! Panel 1: Ezmi’s now hiding her face behind her arms. Ti’Ana gets out of bed. Ti’Ana: I’d better go talk to them. I’ll grab you a tea too. Panel 2: The camera pulls back a bit, showing Ezmi alone in bed. Ezmi: thank you. Panel 3: We see inside the quarters from outside the ship. Ezmi flops backwards in bed. Ezmi: ugh. Panel 4: The camera pulls back more and we see part of the saucer section of the USS Sally Ride NCC-83618. Ezmi: i really shouldn’t have come here.
