@rattigan.bsky.social
Franciscan friar & deacon in the Church of England. Curate of St Margaret of Antioch, Toxteth, in the Diocese of Liverpool. Love Hammer horror, good coffee and a decent pint of ale.
Bit gutted to discover that @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social is not available on Sky Stream. I didn't particularly want TV, but it was only a few quid on top of my broadband, and now I have it, I really wish I could have TPTV. I don't suppose there are other (legit) ways of streaming it live?

This is an awful & to me genuinely shocking, story. It’s not that Jay was let down by the safeguarding *system*, tho of course that’s never acceptable, it’s the personal role played in the failure by the Bishop of Leicester, which raises serious questions of judgement

Geekily excited, as I am deaconing in my new parish this morning, and the Eucharist is a setting I've only just learned - Shephard's Addington Service. Not as well-known as the very popular Mass of St Thomas, but just as lovely. Happy Feast of Saints Peter and Paul! ✝️

On Saturday, the Rt Revd Geoff Pearson ordained me as a deacon in the Church of God.

Right now, the monarch’s political leanings appear in sympathy with the mood of Britain. But what if the public moves further to the right, asks Guardian columnist Martin Kettle

Has the Bishop of Blackburn joined the Church of England Daily Prayer team? That was surely him reading from Hebrews this morning.

Cancelled my Everand subscription after a bunch of titles I was using for an MA paper due tomorrow simply disappeared overnight. You can't rely on it for research, as the more you use it, the more stuff just vanishes. Ruing the demise of archive.org, too. Sigh.

Liturgical question: Is there a name in the church calendar for the bit of Advent between today (17 December) and Christmas? Asking because of the changes to refrains, etc, in the office. #CofE

I've never had particularly strong feelings either way about Justin Welby as Archbishop of Canterbury, but his recent conduct leaves me embarrassed and ashamed, and it only seems to get worse.
