Are any #ME/CFS doctors out there recommending #Butyrate to patients? A mast-cell stabilizer + immune regulator + anti-inflammatory combo, while studies show many ME patients have low gut butyrate levels, it *sounds* promising but I see no studies or data on PEM. Any side effects?

"There are studies showing berberine also blocks mast cells; it is an antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, and it's as good as #Ozempic at stimulating #GLP-1. If anyone wants Ozempic, just take 1g/day of berberine and you'll do better."

🚨 A mechanical cause for #ME/CFS symptoms may be hiding in plain sight: Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS).

New findings suggest many patients have compressed nerves/blood vessels between their neck and shoulder—potentially explaining fatigue, #brainfog, and autonomic dysfunction.

I've heard: "if I didn't eat JUST right, I felt awful", "I needed to keep to my exercise regimen or I felt physically & emotionally awful", etc. etc.

If you NEED to take care of your health to this degree or you tip over into feeling frankly sick, you have a chronic illness at the tipping point.

Small Fiber Neuropathy
We have a conversation about this quite common and very painful neurologic condition so often found in our patients with Complex Illness. --- ## Small Fiber Neuropathy (SFN) in Chronic and Complex Illness: Podcast Summary ### What is Small Fiber Neuropathy? - SFN is a condition affecting small nerve fibers, leading to symptoms like burning pain, tingling, numbness, and autonomic dysfunction (e.g., sweating problems, GI symptoms, dry eyes/mouth, and more). - It’s common in chronic illnesses such as ME/CFS, long COVID, and was also seen in HIV. ### Diagnosis - **Symptoms:** Numbness, tingling, burning, electric shock-like pain, crawling sensations, and various autonomic issues. - **Testing:** Standard nerve tests (EMG/NCS) are usually normal. Skin biopsy is the main diagnostic test but can miss cases due to sampling error. Diagnosis is often clinical. - **Associated conditions:** Autoimmune diseases, diabetes, vitamin deficiencies, medication side effects, amyloidosis. ### Why Test? - Skin biopsy is...
