This is incredible. My dad just admitted, after I confessed I was on page 300+ of a writing project, that he thought I'd just given it up after high school and assumed that the millions of hours I'd spent glued to my laptop were me watching cooking videos.

I would go back in time and hit myself for honing in on writing fan fic as my hobby but the alternative was literal studio art so this is probably on balance the less terrible option. Should have gotten into drugs younger. :(

College journalists are absolutely unhinged and I love them. It was where I actually learned to be a reporter, to have total disregard for ego, and to have a healthy lack of interest in my own personal safety 💖

"The author is dead" is to protect YOU. If I started showing up everywhere people were talking about my fics you would NOT enjoy it I would be SO annoying. No I did not mean any of those beautiful things you read into the prose I was trying to make a dick jokes and it didn't land :(

I'm watching a bunch of interviews with Bart Ehrman about the historical basis for whether early Christianity had a conception of hell (because Jesus would not have) and in 3 hours I have to go talk to a woman about how I am still bad at periods. That's how my day is going.
