When taken literally, not something most of us would want to do, but I concur!

Was visiting family in SC this weekend & went with parents to church (Catholic). The priest preached compassion and love for others in his homily then the first prayer was for “all those falsely imprisoned” so you can’t tell me Francis didn’t shift the vibe
Pope Francis’s "Urbi et Orbi" Easter speech:

“How much contempt is stirred up at times towards the vulnerable, the marginalized and migrants...I appeal to all those in positions of political responsibility in our world not to yield to the logic of fear which only leads to isolation from others.”

I'm sorry to tell you we won't make things better in America by trying to force others to change.

Our foreign enemies used trojan horse bots to make us believe it was noble to try.

Bullying people against their own beliefs only makes them dig their heels in more, perpetuating the Civil War divide.
Multiplicity, Freedom, & Subjectivity vs Civil War
In a country with 335 million people, I'd rather find community than civil war.

The AP are perfectly correct in their stance and I’m sure The Economist will reach the same decision.
"Today we were informed by the White House that if AP did not align its editorial standards with President Donald Trump’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, AP would be barred from accessing an event in the Oval Office."

Good time to reshare this, since apparently a future with rampant polio is on Kennedy's "to-do" list.

Polio can only be prevented, not cured. Once infected, a person can have lifelong complications. The vaccines have been thoroughly tested and are safe and effective. There is no controversy here.
Since everyone’s finding old and new friends, take a moment to read my story, I’m a 32yo polio survivor because I was not vaccinated. Pass on my story, repeat it, tell it to any vaccine hesitate parent. No kid deserves vaccine preventable diseases

I’m a Polio Survivor. I Don’t Want You to Get It.
Polio is once again a public health threat in the United States. Grace is disappointed, though not surprised.

Did America elect Donald Trump or was it actually Elon Musk? He’s net even in office yet and it’s already clear that our president elect has been OWNED by the worlds richest man! I’m not sure the founding fathers ever planed for this scenario!!!

PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy signed a law Monday to prohibit public and school libraries from banning books in the state and to enshrine protections against civil and criminal charges for librarians who comply with the law.

I’m not sure how this got swept under the carpet, but President Biden’s efforts to combat junk fees will likely save Americans more than $20 billion annually. 👀

Right ON!
Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.
