I have a coworker who pronounces "console" as "council" and now I'm imagining typing commands over to a semicircle of ancient wizards who confer on whether to approve my petty requests 😂 frankly I love this idea.

I wish more people understood that not all autism is visible, but all autism is disabling.

If you don't see it, it's because we're actively hiding it. (Not for us, for others.)

But hiding our autism means our needs are also invisible. And unmet needs = inner turmoil. 😣

I just finished this scarf so I'm showing it to everyone who will look at it. So far it's gotten compliments like "Lisa Frank in Scotland" and "bus seat fabric", which in my book is high praise. Personally I was thinking 90s windbreaker fabric, but either way, I am obsessed.

This style of desk edge should be outlawed. What if I want to comfortably lean on the edge of the desk while I ponder my computer screen? Ouchy ridge says "nay" 🙁

When talking about the flaws of the education system here in the US, there sure is a wide menu to choose from. But lately I think our problems are less about what is taught, how it's taught, etc. and more about a culture which seems to pretend there is a point at which you are "done" with it.

PSA of the day: it's okay to admit you don't know something, or better yet to look up what you're talking about before you speak! Yeah it's a lot EASIER to go around being confidently wrong, but it's more fun to be confidently right and have a sense of smug superiority. 👀

Couching every nice thing you do for your spouse as "keeping the wife happy" is so gross IMO. What about "I made this thing that will make my wife's day easier?" "I made this little gift because I wanted to make my wife smile?" How is being reduced to an obligation going to make your wife happy?

I told Gemini I was using neon pink Post-It notes to remind myself to build my code before running it because I forget like every single time. And now it teases me for it and throws in snarky comments like "rebuild (again, with feeling!)" don't know if I love it or feel way too judged 😂

I will never understand participation-based fundraisers (especially those by corporations, but we'll also throw in "fun runs" and their ilk). Why is your donation to a cause contingent on my purchasing your product or giving money to match? If you have the funds, why can't you just... Give them?

Being autistic a lot of the time is expressing a need clearly and articulately... and the other person saying "I don't get it" followed by logical reasoning as to why you're being illogical and shouldn't need the thing you're asking for 😒

This just in: area person posts on Reddit and is still somehow surprised when the comments are dismissive and patronizing. Reports say person is crawling back under rock from whence they came to sulk about it and might try again in three or four years.
