I make stuff and consume media.

neurodivergent cat mom working in software dev // permanently tired // generally not as funny as I think I am
Right now (as a junior dev) I'm using vibe coding to learn by fixing. It cuts through the part I don't like (boilerplate and scaffolding) and leaves me with the parts I do enjoy (bug fixes and customization). But critically I also learn from all this. I dread becoming a senior to AI juniors.

There's also something gross about the concept that your hobby has to produce something useful for it to be valuable and not just a waste of time. But that's some Protestant work ethic BS and I don't want to get into that right now lol.

So no, if he makes something that is useful to me, it's not to "make his wife happy." It's "I made this thing because I care about the human I permanently attached myself to." Do we see the difference here?

You know what makes me happy? Seeing my husband enjoy his hobbies. I'm not a fan of resin printing fumes, but I'm not going to expect him to print me something to "mollify" me so he can keep doing his hobby - I'm going to let him enjoy his hobby, BECAUSE I CARE THAT HE IS HAPPY.

I have a Hyundai and my husband has a Mini Cooper. It's a fun place to be.

I am an Old but I am also impatient. Still, at this point it takes me roughly 200% the amount of time it takes to start a DVD to just pick what I want to watch, so fair argument.
