This, I feel, is important. We all think we’re good people so we couldn’t possibly be doing bad things. Because that is what bad people do, and we are good people.
I would love for people to internalize that there wasn't a core of metaphysical evil at the heart of every Nazi that is lacking in us. They were just people who absorbed a set of beliefs and picked a few facts and acted on those things. Evil isn't a state of being. It's in the banality of it all.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.
