Belgium produced zero oil.
Scotland’s only oil refinery is closing.
Belgium has 4 oil refineries and the Labour Gov are paying them £600m to open a 5th.

Sadly, the BBC chose to report this by saying that Scotland won’t actually have eradicated child poverty by 2029 and are therefore failing, despite doing more to help than the rest of the UK.

JRF modelling suggests that the Scottish Government’s Child Payment and commitment to reverse the 2-child limit from 2026 will see child poverty falling in Scotland while rising for the rest of the UK.
