2025 Reading roundup. I set out with no goals, but in late 2024 I quit all Meta social media (fuck those dorks) and anytime I would have been scrolling, I ended up reading. Happy to say, aside from not being independently wealthy, I’m living 8-yr-old R2’s dream life, and that’s nice.

So anyway. We have tacos every Thanksgiving. It’s about 30m of cooking meat/shells, it’s delicious, and we are so. Damn. Happy. Tradition == shit unless you enjoy it.

I fucken love tacos. We make our own shells. Good hunting years (not 2025) we have elk or deer meat. Mr R2 cooks with me & shit don’t take 14hrs. I informed the fam if they wanted trad Thanksgiving they were welcome to host. No one ever did.

When I got married, I took on Thanksgiving. I hosted my husband’s family. I made turkey & all the bullshit.
After 2 yrs of that I realized I hate Thanksgiving dinner food. So much work. So little reward. So. I stated everyone was still welcome, but we’d be having tacos. 1/2

A tough part of my life is that Mr. R2 (not a developer) expects me (a developer) to provide a better answer to the question ‘why is this streaming svc shoddy’ than ‘their job is not to show you what you want, it’s to get your eyeballs on the most ad content possible’

I was always told that I couldn’t be in STEAM because of the maths (I have dyscalculia). Take THAT, high school guidance counselor. I basically solve puzzles for a living and it rocks. (Less so now that I manage a team rather than doing the work directly)
